Meissen Red Dragon Dinnerware (Eagles Nest) # 674
Of all the dinnerware pictured in use during the 3rd Reich, the Meissen
Red Dragon was no doubt the most documented and photographed and
directly attributed to Adolf Hitler. The Red Dragon Pattern on these
examples is hand painted and they are of the highest quality.
The set pictured here has direct provenance to the Eagle's Nest and was liberated by the allies. One famous photo shows the men of the U.S 3rd Infantry Division loading these pieces up for shipment home, although others maintain that the 101st were the first on the scene. Either way, these are very special pieces with rare provenance.
Displayed here are a tea plate, small coffee or tea cup, and desert bowl. These pieces are individually numbered and are exceptional example of "War Booty"
