Luftwaffe 2nd Model Cased Miniature (SMF) # 1299
This is a beautiful little miniature 2nd Model Luftwaffe with
advertising logo in its original box and manufactured by the firm of
SMF. The presentation case has a red wine interior that is form fitted
to the piece. The dagger measures approx 9 inches outside the scabbard
and its a little screamer with beautiful fittings, scabbard and its
original miniature portapee which is rare. The case is in beautiful
condition with no real issues and I would call it mint personally and
only shows some standard handling and nothing to really speak of. Dagger
has a medium yellow grip that is perfect and twisted wire wrap that is
tight as a drum. The blade is plated and the obverse is the logo in the
name of Milchot Nurnberg/ Nachf. Thomas Miederer. Reverse blade reflects
the SMF Logo with the seated king and the typical D.R.G.M found on
these pieces and the blue buffer is still in place. Scabbard is mint and
just as nice as the dagger itself and is complete with the scabbard
rings. The box measures 11x5 1/2 inches and is the maroon patterned
leather type bearing dual rear hinges and front releases. Interior lid
is a white silk/cotton and separate fitted compartments retain the
pieces in their place. This is a really nice piece and I would rate this
at flat out mint or PV-1
