S.A General's Brown Shirt- Bayrische Ostmark ( Ex-Clyde Davis Collection ) # 3546
S.A Brownshirt for a Gruppenfuhrer or Obergruppenfuhrer as rankings changed. This is an original example that I believe is Bayrische Ostmark and the tabs have faded to violet. The tabs are screw backs and the board is removable. Ribbon bar is indicative of a WWI vet and likely Austrian. The piece is all original and unplayed with and was part of the Clyde Davis collection and remained with him for many years. Davis whose pieces are shown in books was a longtime collector and had an extensive and rare collection of Reich related items. In 1982 he video taped his collection in what must be 2 hours of video and this is shown on both the beginning and the end of the tape and described. It is identical in all respects and remains intact. The video will be made available to the buyer and was only made for his close friends at the time.
Brownshirts can be difficult, this is a rare shirt in very nice condition and a ranking that would not be found easily.
