Bronze Commemoration Adler- Hitler Rome Visit 1938- Bruno Eyermann (1888-1961) # 3428
Bronze statue measuring just over ten inches tall and in commemoration of Adolf Hitler's visit to Rome Italy in May of 1938. Designed by Bruno Eyermann a noted German artist and dating to 1938 this is not something I usually find intact or for that matter in bronze. Eyermann who had a long career as and artist prior to the war, and like many other artists did well under the art driven policies during the Third Reich with a multitude of exhibitions at the Haus der Kunst. Information on his works are readily available online and span his career before, during and after the war. This a beautiful cast and is complete with the swastika beak ornament. To the front of the base is the dedication "Rom 1938 Berlin" which is actually raised and not an engraving. The rear of the base bears the name of the artist as Eyermann, for Bruno Eyermann and the example is guaranteed to be 10x better than my crappy photos allow for and between the bronze and the particular style of these eagles make this piece really hard to shoot.
No disappointments on this one and most of the fascist material I encounter comes no where near the quality of this piece.
