Dr. Joseph Goebbels Bronze Bust- August Kranz # 3421
This a very rare original Goebbels bust by August Franz. It falls into the 1/3 life size of 7 inches high on the bust and an overall height of 9 inches and retains its original base and it is in beautiful condition. The bust is signed to the rear A. Franz and dated 1938. It is an opportunity to own one of the rarest busts that can be found. I do know having been around for a while that "Rarity" is implied on so many pieces in the market that it has lost its meaning in many cases and has lead to terms such as ultra-rare, uber rare, mega rare, super rare, yada, yada, yada.
Since the end of the war there have been many at work copying and crafting pieces for illicit gain, deceit, and for fun and some of those pieces even come into play for discussion. For every 10 Goebbels busts seen in the last 30 years, 9.5 of them are fake and worked off an original model right here in the U.S and marketed to the unwitting collectors. This is the first one I have ever had or seen along with one other a couple years ago by a different artist. Best I can tell from reaching out in market, the last time a bust such as this was traded was around the same time Nadia Comăneci was scoring perfect 10's at the 1976 olympics. The odds are you will die of old age before you see another one of these, those are the odds.
A righteous example in beautiful condition for a tier one collector who likes the finer things in life.
