Allach Porcelain- Ein Volk Ein Reich Austrian Annexation Medal for 1937 ( Boxed) # 3363
A very rare cased Allach table medal dating to 1937 and representing the annexation of Austria into the 3rd Reich. Black plaque form fitted in original case with cream lining and braided accent. Upper plaque bears the state shields of both Germany and Austria and torn banner indicating reunification. The inscription for this time period on many pieces is Ein Volk, Ein Reich meaning One People One Reich. Under the background of static swastika's is the phrase " Unseren Freunden Julfest 1937 " or "Our Friends to the Julfest Celebration 1937" Very uncommon and I have never even had one in hand and the only published example is credited to a museum.
This is a large format non-portable measuring approx. 5 x 5 inches with its exterior case approx. 6 x 6 inches. This is about as good as it gets on the rarity and condition scales for a cased Allach award plaque of any type and even the case has the medal locking clasp with interior rope border intact. Rare piece.
