Early Berlin Ehrenpreis Table Medal in Bronze (Boxed) # 3359
A nice early boxed table medal in bronze... These used to be out there but in recent years have become difficult to find and when you do the box is gone, it's small, it's pot metal, and for raising roosters or some other glorious N.S farming endeavor. This one here is the first I have seen that actually pops in some time. Measuring approx. 4 x 4 the medal is solid bronze with verdigris highlights and lays in its original box of over 5 inches square and depicts the Brandenburg Gate with Victoria at the reins of her chariot drawn by four horses against sun rays in the early Deutschland Erwache style. The Brandenburg Gate in the Capital city of Berlin was inspired by the Acropolis and built during the reign of Frederick the II, Its neoclassical style and historical foundation made it more than suitable for the Nazi party and can be found in a multitude of propaganda cards and works. This example is an Ehrenpreis for outstanding achievements.
