Cased N.S.D.A.P 25 Year Long Service Medal (Ladies Ribbon)
Cased thin "19" marked NSDAP 25 year long service cross with rare narrow 15mm ladies ribbon. A beautiful mint cross in perfect white enamel maker marked "19" for Wilhelm Deumer of Ludenscheid on the suspension ring and bearing the rear inscription in gold “Treue für Führer und Volk”. Obverse of the cross displays the national eagle clutching the mobile swastika against the white enamel easily making this one of the more striking awards to be had for the Third Reich. The award and its issued 50cm length narrow ladies ribbon rests in its original presentation box. The box is a red leatherette adorned with the national eagle to the top and a cream interior and forward spring button catch and measures approx. 3 1/8 x 4 1/4. Constructed of wood and pressed cardboard with silk inner upper lining and a rear steel piano hinge.
Rarity of the gold party long service medal is high and it is estimated that to meet the requirements to receive it there might have been in total 400 of which possibly 25 to be awarded to ladies, making this an extremely rare award and in mint condition. Documentation for the ladies version of the L.S can be found in the 1940 edition of the Org book which I have attached and includes the description of the ribbon, color design and sizes, inclusive of the 50cm x 15mm wide narrow ribbon for ladies.
This is not “19” (Weidmann) as Präsidialkanzlei (PKZ) numbers were not used on NSDAP long service awards. Although the NSDAP Long Service in Gold, was instituted April 2nd 1939, for 25 years of long-standing and faithful work in the service of the NSDAP, it was only first awarded on January 30, 1942 by party decree in the spring of 1941. This is further evidence of the rarity of this award. It is constructed out of a buntmetall base that has been gilded and layered with white enamel work on which the gilded party eagle is attached, and is finished in a protective lacquered coating. Accompanying the cross is a rare narrow ladies ribbon.
A very rare award and please note that an original standard ribbon was acquired by the owner for purposes of display and is included with the piece and you have both ribbons with the lot.
