Large commemorative iron plaque for completion of the Reich Chancellery in 1939 and designed by Arno Breker. These were presented by Albert Speer to the senior staff and was one of the plaques that were designed by Breker for various function for this event. This is a large format iron plaque depicting Hitler and signed A. Breker at the nape of the neck and was manufactured at the Prussian Mining and Smelter Company Gleiwitz. Dedication reads "In memory of completion of the Reich Chancellery- Erstanden March 1938 to today Berlin the ninth January 1939".
Breker's importance during the Reich cannot be understated and he was one of the few with direct access to Hitler and his works command substantial sums. The plaque measures about 10.5 x 5.35 inches and is in essentially mint condition and rare enough that i think this is the first one I have had and they are very tough to buy.
