Adolf Hitler Bronze Plaque- ( H.J Pagels ) # 3284
I used to write descriptions that allowed for context a bit more than as of late and tend to just give the dimensions and information that people want. This plaque however is nice enough to make an exception and its an early, heavy piece in large diameter of 10 inches. It is manufactured in bronze with a beautiful patina and of a quality not often seen. Of course it is a Pagels piece which I tend to lean into because they all come in at exceptional quality and this one is no exception to that rule.
Getting pieces of this quality is difficult as they have been absorbed into collections and into market, and of course survival rates are not high to begin with, especially with bronze as much of it was melted down after the war. So it is pieces like this that make it all worth while when looking for that one special piece or upgrading to a higher level. This is high level and the contextual example I would use is that its not the crappy dinnerware you put out for your neighbors, its the good shit, the stuff in the china cabinet that never sees the light of day except special occasions. Some times you have to treat yourself with something special and looking out into the market, material like this is just not out there.
A rare large bronze wall plaque by H.J Pagels. Heavy prewar example and about the size of a dinner plate at almost 10 inches in diameter with Hitler in high relief. A very nice example and very high quality and they just don't come up like this anymore it seems, and about as nice as they get.
