Adolf Hitler- Deutschland Erwache Bronze Desk Ornament
Early cast bronze allegorical Adolf Hitler 1933 double sided relief sculpture. This early bronze was sculpted by medalist and sculptor Hermann Hosaeus, an early Nazi party member. It shows a profile portrait of Hitler resting on "new growth" sprouting from a broken off trunk of a tree, likely representing Germany in defeat at the end of the First World War. The reverse shows a large swastika rising with the sun, and the year 1933 below. The unpatinated, lightly gilt bronze is mounted on its original variegated marble base. It has an overall height of about 5". It is lightly, but legibly signed Hosaeus in the bronze. Excellent condition with no losses or damage.
