Gahr SS Stickpin Boxed # 1057
The Gahr firm most notable for manufacture of the SS Honor ring was
the prominent manufacturer of jewelry for the SS. These stickpins are of
the highest quality and were quite costly in comparison to the
counterparts during the war. It is not hard to see why with the enamel
work and detail. Boxed examples are just about unheard of and I think I
know of three examples.
Gahr jewelry and stickins are rare enough other than fakes found in the market, that they are just not found really at all.
With a mint boxed Honor ring showing up weekly in California and always
finding its way to one dealer who has to defend each one for its
manufacturing aspects and issues, It may be time to think about laying
out a boat load of cash for something that needs an explanation, excuse,
or an article to mislead the collector about x-ray technology or rubber
molds.
This piece needs no explanation or excuse, it has never been to California and to my knowledge never touched by a California dealer, ever!. That should be worth something on its own, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
