Bronze NCO Statue- Max Bezner 1920 # 1147
The 2011 S.O.S had some nice pieces and several bronze examples were
available for view and purchase, this one however may very well have
been the nicest example that I saw and if not for the fact that I had
just purchased several new pieces I probably would have grabbed this
one.
As luck would have it, a collector saw it and grabbed it
and it now has a new home and the owner was kind enough to forward me
some photos for my gallery.
The piece stands approx. 16 Inches in height and is signed and dated. I do not know if the soldier was someone known or if this was some kind of commissioned remembrance piece for the family of a soldier or fallen soldier but it was so well done that whoever had it done had the means to pay at the time.
The
artist is listed and has more than a few pieces to his credit which
makes me wonder if maybe this young man may need an identity. A great
piece and if anyone recognizes him feel free to send me an e-mail.
