Der Fuhrer Profile: Arno Breker (Reichschancellry) # 711
Three versions of this Breker piece are noted. All examples were cast
by the Prussian Mining and Smelter Company Gleiwitz. The first example
noted is a small 19cm variant in Iron. Breker created this piece to
celebrate Hitler's 50th Birthday. The second variant and less common, is
a larger example in bronze at 43cm in size.
The third variant
was made to commemorate the completion of the New Reich's Chancellery in
1939. Shown is the third variant in the 43cm size and Signed A. Breker.
Arno Breker is probably the most notable artist of the period and was
responsible for some of the greatest and most important works of the
Reich.
