Rosenthal Painted Rabbit ( Hase )- Albrecht Duerer # 1103
Albrecht Duerer born in 1471 is considered to be one of the most important artists of the Renaissance period and he is a subject in itself.
Rosenthal
had manufactured many painted tiles during the Third Reich most notable
examples are political pieces inclusive of Hitler, Himmler, and
Frederick the Great. This piece is from an original water color done in
1502 and bears the artists tell tale initials and sits in its original
frame with distributor marking from Hamburg.
While Duerer is
well known and his original works command considerable premiums, this is
the first time I have seen this particular piece in hand and its quite
nice and remarkable detail.
