The Putsch of 1923 is the defining moment for the National Socialist party and when it was over there would be 16 martyr's in the wake of its failure. Hitler would head to Landsberg where he would pen Mein Kampf and the rest is history. The use of martyr's in propaganda during the period was fairly common.

This piece by Reich is pretty much self explanatory and its an original sketch by Albert Reich for purposes of illustration in period reference and its coinciding post card. Its a well known piece and political in nature and it came out even better than I had anticipated. Framed the piece measures 32 x 20 inches and is done with professional archival backing and acid free materials, glass is UV protective and there were no shortcuts getting this done properly. Not everyone can hang an item such as this but its a great piece for someones bunker and tastefully done in my opinion.

Albert Reich (1881-1942) a long time artist prior to the rise of National Socialism and from Bavaria was at work in WWI and did both military themed pieces and non military themed pieces. Most of his work is military in nature and depicts normal military type themes. From the German Alpenkorps in WWI to illustrations for S.A publications and postcards during the Reich. His works were displayed 11 times in the Great German Art Exhibition with some noted here with several purchased by Adolf Hitler for several thousand Reichmark: Reich went on to be a combat artist in Poland in1939 before his death in 1942.

 Nice piece and not a typical mass produced propaganda piece that we typically see, but an original signed example of his period work.
