Allgemeine SS NCO Visor (Early) # 798
This visor dates to the 1934/35 period and had a window of
manufacture of about one year. The cap has a wonderful saddle shape and
is manufactured of the early heavy wool. Interior of the cap bears a
high quality private purchase style of lining but is RZM marked to the
lower bill and it bears the black and white RZM tag with the maker #143
which I believe to be Mueller. The sweat diamond is almost perfect with
just one crack and the black RZM tag was sewn under the diamond.
The chinstrap is in beautiful condition and directly above that sits an early Deschler skull. The political style eagle which can be found on early and some late examples is rock solid and appears to have been there forever. There is no mothing to be found on the cap or the piping and the only detractions that I can find is a small section of sweatband that has let loose and is gone to time. This cap is a 75 year old cap and shows a very honest and evenly applied amount of wear throughout. If you seek a brand new cap this is not for you, but if you would like a rare early cap that looks and smells like it was worn, this would be your cap. It is in exceptional condition for its age and the size is 55.
Please
forward any questions you might have and I would be happy to
accommodate requests for photo's or field any questions I may not have
answered within the description. Its a choice piece for the discriminating SS collector.
