Meissen Iron Cross Plate # 3444
This would be a nice piece for the collector of Iron Cross and its a rare plate and an early Meissen example. The plate measure 10 inches in diameter and features the Iron cross in sunburst done in gold gilt. What makes it more interesting and special is that the border is done is done with a crown in thorns making it one of the most aesthetically pleasing plates that I have encountered. Being an early example the entire plate is hand painted unlike the WWII regimental plates that you typically see. Its a screamer that is mint and undamaged and bears the proper crossed swords marking as well as painters mark and model mark. Rare plate.
