Meissen SS Regimental Plate- Reiterstandarten Berlin # 3412
This plate is something special and I used to sit and write up descriptions on things that were out of the ordinary or special, over the years however I have seen a lot of pieces and its rare for me to say more than needs to be said. I have never seen until today an SS Regimental plate by the firm of Meissen. With the start of Allach in 1936 and with at least two decrees by Himmler on the use of porcelain over medals for awards related porcelain for the SS, most all of it is done there. While there are a number of porcelain manufacturers and cottage firms that made a few SS items, there are very few. One of course is Meissen and there are probably 3 or 4 small terra cotta coins pertaining to the SS, but those mainly date prior to PMA, so they are known to have done work on SS related items.
Offered here is a 100% original Meissen regimental plate for the 1st SS Reiterstandarten 7 out of Berlin-Duppel. This is a rare plate, its a mint plate, and the first of its type that I have ever seen. All the photos supplied should allow an educated consumer the knowledge needed to identify it for what it is.
