KPM Prussian Police Dish # 1022
Once in a while I will get a curve ball and will swing at it, this one is a hit in my opinion.
I
spend so much time on Allach porcelain and there is really no rival to
Allach when it comes to porcelain figures as to detail and paint work,
but there is KPM.
KPM was established in the mid 1700's at the will of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia and is a small part of his legacy as one of the most respected and revered figures of German history.
The porcelain is of the highest quality and while its difficult to find Third Reich pieces with most attributed in some way to Herman Goring, their imperial and pre-war items are just over the top, and their paint work in many cases is second to none.
The is a hand painted
porcelain dish bearing the Polizei emblem designed by Prof. Boehm and
utilized on items most often associated with the 1926 Polizei
exhibition, this one does not seem to be connected to the convention and
dates from 1926 into the early 30's. These are rare enough that I never
see them in market. Measuring just over 4 1/2 inches in diameter with
blue paint and gold trim, its a really nice little piece.
