K Prefix Production Notes # 507
Along with porcelain figures that Allach is most famous for, the
production of "K" prefix pieces (keramik) or ceramic, were also
combined. They were no doubt a separate production as their model #'s
all start with a "K". At the time of the 1938/39 catalogs original
printing there were 25 individual pieces and variants that ran from
"K1"- "K20".
These piece's were made of earthenware or terra cotta and the designs were of pagan style, or had an ancient appearance. Although the Julleuchter would be a prime example, it was an un-numbered piece. These pieces also included presentations. You will find a bust of the Fuhrer as well as a heroic bust and a very large Adler. All of which I will get to.
At some point not unlike standard production on the porcelain figures, the "K" prefix pieces break and jump into what I call the "500 series". These pieces are for the most part various vase and in some cases candle holders.
It would appear that the vase item's whether they be earthenware or porcelain had their own production numbers. These are not as popular as the porcelain figures and certainly are not as pretty. But they are noteworthy.
The "500" series pieces and the "K" Series pieces were a fraction of production when compared to standard catalog items. They break down into three basic varieties. In order to utilize the 38/39 production figures, it would require using percentiles and production of standard pieces in a mathematical equation to guess as to how far they went or how many were actually manufactured.
The three categories break down like this up to the 1939 production figures:
500 Series Porcelain Vase 500 - 510
500 Series "K" Prefix Vase/Etc. K501 - K512
Standard "K" Prefix Series Ceramic K1 - K20
